MS Dhoni hands over CSK captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen a significant reshuffle on Thursday. Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) has left the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been provided the order in his place. MS Dhoni will keep on playing with the group as a player. Dhoni was the chief of CSK from the start of the competition in 2008. In the mean time, he didn't lead CSK for just two years as the group was then prohibited for a considerable length of time because of a spot-fixing embarrassment.

CSK said in an explanation,

"MS Dhoni has chose to Hand over the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings to another player and he has picked Ravindra Jadeja to lead the group. Jadeja has been a fundamental piece of Chennai Super Kings beginning around 2012 and will be just the third player to lead CSK.

This time the Chennai group held 4 players including Jadeja and Dhoni. Jadeja was held by the establishment for Rs 16 crore. While MS Dhoni was held for this season just for Rs 12 crore. From this, it was speculated from the start that Jadeja could be made the skipper. Aside from him, Moeen Ali was held for 8 crores and Rituraj Gaikwad for 6 crores.
